Hectospec Wavelength Calibration
I made a set of reference comparison spectra for use with the MMT Observatory's
Hectospec spectrograph. In my experience, Hectospec's helium-neon-argon (HeNeAr)
lamps produce spectra that do not look like the the typical HeNeAr atlas spectra,
largely because the helium lamps are stronger or weaker than usual. In addition,
medium-resolution Hectospec spectra often use the PenRay mercury-neon-argon (HgNeAr)
lamps, on their own or with the helium lamps also turned on,
and HgNeAr spectral atlases were practically non-existent.
